Walter Cronkite has died at age 92. We have all lost a trusted friend and member of our family.

How ironic to receive the news on the day we commemorate the landing on the moon 40 years ago. Cronkite guided us through the process, explained it to us, made it alive for us.

Kids of our generation really thought he was our distant uncle.

He had been there for us when a president was assassinated. He guided us through the War in Vietnam. He helped us understand the news and history.

He remained active well into his later years and will be sorely missed.
