I like bacon. I like its taste, smell, and the sound of it sizzling in a pan on a Saturday morning. I like success too!
@jamescollier is someone I consider an expert in this matter and he says that if you mention "bacon" in your blog or on Twitter, you will get more hits.
So, I thought I would try it.
I am not eating bacon these days, but the sound and aroma of bacon sizzling on a Saturday morning is as alluring in my memory as anything I can think of.
Bacon sizzles and every entrepreneur I know wants to sizzle as well. Whether you are a spiritual, social, or business entrepreneur (or a combination of one or all), you will want to turn up the heat on your endeavors and create the aroma of success.
How?
Beyond attitude, which is first, and aptitude, which you can acquire, there is activity. The activity is in the details, the little things … like one strip of bacon sizzling on a Saturday morning …
… or like acquiring a tiny piece of information and trying it out for size.
That is what I am doing here and now. Can you smell it? Can you hear it? Does it trigger thoughts and emotions lodged in your memory?
Thanks to James, I went home and did an acronym for BACON — but that is for a later post. After all, one try is not enough.
If you have been to a seminar, a webinar, a talk, or a meeting and have gone away with one tidbit of information or a pregnant idea, that is great! But it is only great if you follow through with activity. You must DO SOMETHING with that idea. Apply it!
I think that this "sizzlingest" entrepreneurial thinkers are always collecting and applying ideas through trial and error. They are hungry for morsels the way a person awakens to the sound and smell of bacon sizzling on the stove. They are drawn to the source and moved to participate.
Learn something today … even if it is merely a morsel from the buffet of great ideas. Learn it and apply it.
You will sizzle like bacon on a Saturday morning.
