I woke up with an itch on my back this morning just under my right should blade.
I couldn't get to it. I reached for whatever tools might assist me as I adjusted myself to see my clock.
It read: 2:13 A.M.
I confess. I have not written much on here lately. I have been writing, but my writing has consisted of responses to correspondence, public and private.
The stewardship of this space has been on my to-do list daily, but, as the confession continues, I just haven't had the itch.
Meanwhile, I just could not find a book thin enough to handle, long enough to reach, or hard enough to do the job on that back itch – 2:20 A.M..
I do have an alarm set for 3:00 A.M.. That is my NPR news alarm. I often listen … and sleep … until the 4:00 A.M. alarm. I also have one for 4:30 A.M. and a final one for 5:00 A.M..
That is what it takes sometimes.
But I could not shake the itch and had begun to wonder if this might be my breakthrough. Who knows?
Whatever, I got up at 2:30, made my tea, read some scripture and Brother Oswald, started my prayer time, listened to the news, read my email, and here I am.
Both itches have been scratched.
