Over 54 years ago, a little boy sang along with the congregation, this hymn. But for him, it was more than a song. It was a prayer. It was a commitment. I made it. I was 8 and I meant it.
I have staggered, wavered, and stumbled, but He took my commitment at face value and we have never left each other's side. Now, I've been to some of the places He traveled and I renew the commitment yet again.
Fame, fortune, security, and stability are all attractive, but they pale in comparison to knowing that my life is guided by a purpose greater than my own ability to evaluate, manipulate, or determine.
He has always given me grace and glory. I will follow — wherever He leads me.
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
"Take thy cross and follow, follow Me."
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.I'll go with Him thro' the garden,
I'll go with Him thro' the garden,
I'll go with Him thro' the garden,
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.I'll go with Him thro' the judgement
I'll go with Him thro' the judgement
I'll go with Him thro' the judgement
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I'll go with Him, with Him all the way.
