God comes … into the scattered dust of our existence and there is something metallic in us and magnetic in Truth that draws us from randomness to reality and purpose.
Sometimes, it is an angel voice that calls and sometimes our own random seeking that draws, but always, always, always, there is an invasion of divinity into our little conclaves of humanity that speaks with clarity ….
If we will hear, we will hear.
Our challenges are peripheral!
Our purpose is central. It does not change with our circumstances.
We cannot and must not focus on circumstances. We are called to live on purpose, by purpose, and with purpose! We must be purposeful. Life is good!
"There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." – Leonard Cohen
It is also, sometimes, how the water of life gets out.
Called in distressed and from distress, delivered. That is life.
And, at the quarreling waters of Meribah, we remember more than one testing. But our hearts and minds are drawn to the secret place of thunder where God has answered.
It is a place of gathering sound that explodes in unambiguous truth. Sometimes, when God answers, the origin of the answer resides in the blinding brightness of the dark places of mystery, while the answer reverberates with the crushing accompaniment of the obvious.
He answers from the source, but the echoes of the answer sound forth for all to hear.
"In distress you called, and I delivered you;
I answered you in the secret place of thunder;
I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah"
Psalm 81:7 (ESV)
