A Prayer for the Path

"Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths." -Psalm 25:4

God, of the straight way,

God of today and yesterday.

Lead me along the path of Thy truth.

Lead me as Thou hast led since my youth.

Guide me as I walk where saints have passed.

Guide me as long as life and breath shall last.

Teach me Thy way, Thy Words, and Thy will.

Rest me in Thee and make my heart be still.

Grant that I may know Thee and see, believing.

Grant me that faith to be receiving

All that Thou art and all that Thou wouldst give.

May I obey Thee and so may I live.

Show me the way, Thy way, Thy desire.

Teach me, fill me, may Thou my heart inspire.

May I follow Thee in word and thought and deed.

And when my life is finished here, this I plead.

Lord, may my path lead straight to Thy throne,

That I may see Thee, and Thou alone.

Amen.
