God of the poor and broken.
LORD of the humble.
Father of peacemakers.
Friend of sinners.
Jesus, the Son,
Spirit of Truth,
Abba of All.
Hear our prayers for the decisions and decision makers.
Give us the heart and mind of Jesus as we vote and prepare to vote.
May we, your people, be the people who come to the polls with a bias for those who are least likely to speak for themselves,
For breaking shackles,
For welcoming the stranger,
For loving the neighbor who is most maligned,
For liberating communities and people in bondage,
For speaking for the rights of those who are oppressed,
For making peace and keeping peace,
For being gracious in a world of hostility,
For being salt and light and accepting antagonism and hostility with grace.
May the outcomes of tomorrow's exercise of our royal powers
Be most to the advantage of those Jesus called
"The least of these, my brethren."
