Cyril Ritchard – “Mutual Admiration Society” – Nov 17, 1957
I am working on an article centered on the word, “admire.”
It is taking longer than usual – weeks.
I seldom put that much time into an essay, mostly, in this case, gap time, walking away from it and walking around with it.
When I write it, it will take less than an hour.
Reflection: I admire so many people, so many of you, for so many reasons.
Question: If I admire a young person and they know it because I let them know it, does that offer them an incentive to live even more admirably?
I admire you like I admire a magnificent work of art or a sublime piece of music.
Pardon my staring and eavesdropping.
I was browsing YouTube for a perfect video montage of art and classical music for the above posting when I found this. It diverted and subverted me with joy.
I am joining that society forthwith.
