Isaiah 61:11
“For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”

Winter is not eternal. It has limits. Its season ends. What feels unyielding eventually loosens its grip and gives way to spring.

Often, the earth recognizes this shift before we do. Beneath the surface, unseen processes are already at work. Buds begin to form. Life stirs. What has been buried pushes upward, reaching toward the light.

No one can halt the advance of spring.

In the same way, God is at work in history, steadily accomplishing His purposes. Nothing can ultimately resist what He is doing through His people—first through Israel, and also through the church. He is causing righteousness and praise to rise up from the soil of ordinary lives and communities, breaking into the visible world so that all nations may see and glorify Him.

There are seasons when we feel discouraged—when life resembles a long, cold winter. We may see little evidence of renewal. We may wonder whether anything good is emerging at all.

Yet even then, God is working beneath the surface.

As surely as the first blossoms of spring appear—often suddenly and unexpectedly—what God is doing will come into view. It will capture our attention. It will remind us that He has not relinquished His authority over history or its outcome.

He will fulfill His purposes.

And He will invite His people to participate in that unfolding work—and to share in its joy.

Be encouraged. Spring is coming.
