For Living or a Living?

Don’t be a cynic:

“A cynic is a a man who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing.” – Oscar Wilde

Furthermore:

The difference may be too subtle to catch but, I will ask anyway:

Do you do what you do for living or do you do what you do for a living?

Frankly, I learned a few lessons about all of this from a feline.

We used to have a church cat we called, “Missy.”

She made herself at home wherever she was.

She knew how to just be.

This tired old world and your tired old souls
Need a bit of revival for your survival.
You need a little step for your stomp and
A little stomp in your step.
What I’m saying is that there’s too much travesty
You need a little rhapsody
In blue I’d say because blue is true and you’ll
Someday say, “I was there, but alas, I grew.

You need some Gershwin and here it is.

Live. Live in the moment. Maybe not for the moment, but in the moment.

I have so much to do today and I am so overwhelmed with possibilities that —

— I think I will have another cup of coffee.

I won’t get far on empty.

I have considered all of my options and have determined that aging is a pretty good stage of life to embrace and celebrate!

So, if you catch me complaining, feel free to remind me!

Excuse me. I have to go install my teeth!

An elderly man in a cozy sweater winks and smiles warmly at the camera.
